Sparky and Reepicheep
March 1, 2009 |
Sparky and Reepicheep have something in common now! Sparky arrived at the Primary School last Monday in a helicopter to help kick-off Book Week. Sparky did her best to encourage the kids to read books, including the best one of all, the Bible. Meanwhile, Nathan has decided to be Reepicheep from the Chronicles of Narnia's The Voyage of the Dawn Treader for the book parade this Friday. He also designed a new book cover for the same book. |

Happy Valentine's Day to You!
February 14, 2009 |
Last night we celebrated our ninth Valentine's Day together at a dinner hosted by our school's grade 11 students. Tonight we watched a video as a family that told the story of the Christian martyr Valentine who emulated Jesus Christ by giving his life for his friends. What examples to follow! What love to embrace! |

Seimat Translation Team
February 1, 2009 |
One of the joys of being support workers is being connected with Bible Translation teams. Our friends Beata and Theresa work with Seimat speakers from the remote Ninigo Islands and in just 5 years their team has turned most of the Seimat New Testament in at least draft form. Christopher always enjoys flying members of the team to and from Ukarumpa and our family likes to share meals and play games with them too! |

Do we look alike?
January 25, 2009 |
Hannah is already three months old and is giving out lots of smiles to anyone who will look her way. People say she looks like her mommy. Comparing photos, big brother Nathan can certainly claim her as his precious little sister. |

VBS 2009 - A Family Event
January 19, 2009 |
Our entire family was really "into" VBS this past week, working alongside about 60 others of our Ukarumpa family to teach God's Word and serve an average of 550 children per day. (Pictures around the edge clockwise) Nehemiah and Hannah were well taken care of in an upper room and enjoyed the daily puppet shows, Kay was a big helper with set-up and clean-up, friends joined Darlene in leading singing, Nathan helped his mom demonstrate what it means to be attached to Jesus, and Christopher and Darlene dramatized becoming free from sin through the work of Jesus. Thank you for praying for endurance for us and spiritual fruit in the lives of the children and workers. We believe God answered those prayers with a "YES!" |

Vacation Bible School 2009
January 11, 2009 |
It's that time of year again. At the tail-end of the New Year's Holiday we enjoy inviting a few of the neighborhood kids over for a week of Bible teaching, games, songs, puppet shows and fun. We covet your prayers for spiritual protection, health, strength, wisdom, love and boldness for the
workers AND their families.
